Run by two sisters, Gemimmy's is a small cafe located in the shopping district near the Shizuoka JR station. As we were looking for a brunch place, we did a quick Google search and were enticed by photos of their colourful and healthy looking sandwiches & pancakes with fresh fruits as well as the good reviews.
Gemminy's seems like a popular choice amongst locals for parties at homes or for offices - you can order their colorful sandwich boxes with a variety of fillings. They look like a rainbow put together!
You may choose either the Five grain bread (quinoa, soybean, brown rice, sesame and barley) or the Rye bread (rye, flaxseed, sunflower seed with soybeans and oatmeal) for your sandwich. They have such an exciting variety of fillings. Take your pick from BBQ Pork and coleslaw, Bacon and eggs or with vegetables, Pastrami beef and dried tomatoes and other vegetable only options. We ordered the Chicken with Grilled Vegetable with honey mustard dressing sandwich set - which comes with a coffee and thick cut potato slices with their skins on. The grilled vegetables were really fresh and they provide a nice crisp contrast to the chicken and soft bread. The portion was large as well.
Felt a little bummed as we wanted to try their fruits pancakes too, but they were only available during teatime and we were moving on to our next destination. Next time perhaps!
Gemminy's food, serving presentation and ambience makes one feel like they are in a cafe in Australia instead. During our visit, there were other female customers enjoying a sandwich set each while leisurely chatting with one another.
For a cosy relaxing brunch or a place to have your afternoon tea and rest your tired feet from shopping in the area, head over to Gemminy's for a well balanced good tasting meal and some fruit pancakes. The health conscious enthusiasts will especially love this place!
