I first came across Brancusi when I was scrolling through the list of cafes in Seoul on Instagram. The place caught my eye with its focus on its bakes and its signature drink - the super chocolately Dirty Latte.
Brancusi, a tofu factory turned cafe, retains parts of its old self while displaying contemporary expressions in the form of marbled table tops and glass walls.
The insides of the cafe is a minimalist space accented by rough cement walls and wood bricks dividers. Those who are into design will take delight in this industrial chic cafe - a refurbished space full of character.
We visited the cafe on a rainy day and it was the perfect spot to have our afternoon caffeine fix. The cafe gives off its own special allure and the red bricks and warm lighting gives off a warm and cozy atmosphere.
We ordered both the iced and hot versions of the Dirty Latte. Served overflowing with milk foam and dark chocolate shavings, not only were they visually appealing but they had a strong robust taste too.
Tried Canele for the very first time - a small French pastry with a thick caramelised crust and with fillings inside them. They do really good Caneles at Brancusi, with a variety of fillings on rotation. It was sweet, crusty and with a chewy like texture in the middle. Perfect when paired with their coffee.
Cafe Brancusi is off the main shopping areas that tourists are familiar with but it's well worth the wander. Time moves differently at Brancusi. It is the perfect place to get away from the noise of Seoul, slow down and have a conversation with your friends or simply as a mood booster for you to recharge over the delicious coffees and homemade bakes.
