The Arriate Cafe is located in an eye-catching location in Hongdae. When we came out from the Hongik Subway station, we were drawn to the building decked in pretty flowers. The exterior of the building exudes a certain Parisian charm with its window balconies & roses.
The flowers used to decorate the entrance of the cafe changes by season I suppose as I've seen it decked in other flowers online. For all flower lovers, this is nice place to stop by after your shopping in Hongdae for flora infused teas and lots of photos.
On the first floor, you may order your drinks and cakes, and also shop for the fresh and dried flowers on sale. The staff will then bring your orders your seats located on the second floor. I loved how the flowers were wrapped in brown papers giving the feeling of being in a market where flowers are being freshly sold.
The drinks come with a small glass of flowers by their side and it certainly adds on to the charm of being in a flower cafe. We ordered the chai coffee and oreo ice blended. The foam on the coffee tasted super delicious as it was cold and it had a texture of marshmallow fluff which paired really nicely with the warm coffee. It is a nice feeling to sit by the roses and have your cuppa.
And we were super happy to see a cut-out of Jimin at the side looking really prettily at us!!
Although the drinks are pretty pricey (about 5000-8000 won), Arriate Cafe is a worthwhile spot to rest your tired legs at Hongdae and be immersed in its somewhat whimsical setting that makes you feel like you are in a beautiful wonderful garden.
